An Award Winning Writer, Performer, Comic, Hip Hop Artist and Theatre Maker, Candy Bowers trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art and received a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts/ Acting in 2001. Since then she has worked across Australia and in the UK as a solo artist and in various Comedy and Performance groups. Her original work has featured at the Sydney Opera House Studio, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, The Victorian Arts Centre and Edinburgh Fringe Festival to name a few. She has also worked with Sydney Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre Company, The Australian Theatre for Young People and Belvoir St Theatre; both as an Artist and Teacher in the Youth Education and Juvenile Justice Programs. In 2010 Candy was nominated for the Phillip Parsons Young Playwright Award and won the Best Performance Award at the Melbourne Fringe Festival for her solo show WHO’S THAT CHIK? In 2008 she picked up the British Council of the Arts Realise Your Dream Award and was named on the Top 100: Creative Catalysts List at the inaugural Creative Sydney/ Vivid Festival. Over the past few years Candy has been seen speaking her mind on ABC TV’s Q and A, shaking her booty with Denise Drysdale on The Circle and spitting killer flows on Channel V and the Comedy Channel. Her current Artistic Projects include writing a play about South African culture entitled Cook Sisters, creating Hip Hop Theatre for children, touring original works to schools with Queensland Arts Council, developing the Youth Program with Contact Inc and delivering her brand new music comedy show Australian Booty across the country.
Candy B is passionate about celebrating diversity on the Australian stage and the advocates for Arts programs in marginalized communities.

From the streets of the Sydney’s South West comes Busty Beatz, an Award-Winning Artist and Composer of music and sound for Dance, Theatre, Circus, Visual Art, Cabaret and Film. Kim Bowers aka Busty Beatz has created work inside Australia and across the world for over 20 years. She has performed with the likes of Bone, Thugs -N- Harmony, The Breeders, Silverchair, Spearhead, Stacey Ann Chin (DEf Poetry Jam), The Beastie Boys, and Powderfinger to name a few. A unique Artist within the worlds of Music and Performance, Busty Beatz is a pioneer of Hip Hop Theatre in Australia. She has performed original work at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Sydney Festival, Melbourne Arts Centre, Brisbane Powerhouse and the Sydney Opera House. Awards include Best Performance – Melbourne Fringe Festival 2009, Youth Education Program Award – Adelaide Festival 2006, Greenroom Theatre Award Nominations 2005 and Melbourne Fringe Festival Director’s Choice Award 2003. She continues to work within marginalised communities and with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds. At present she is a featured writer in the Big Day Out book ‘Peace, Love and Brown Rice‘ and is a part of the Women Who Rock exhibition currently on tour from the Victorian Arts Centre.
